Accessibility

Accessibility was an important criterion in the design of this website. Several aspects were considered during the development of the site. If this site does not meet your needs or if you have difficulty using it, please contact us.

Actions taken in accordance with the Quebec government’s accessibility standards:

  • Hierarchical headings for page structure
  • Text equivalents for images that have informational value or function
  • Properly associated labels for each form field
  • Explicit labeling for all links
  • Distinction between content and structure through the use of CSS style sheets
  • Valid style sheet codes
  • Avoidance of pop-up windows and data tables
  • And much more!

Action exceeding Quebec government accessibility standards:

  • Integration of Responsive Design functionality that automatically adapts page content to screen size, making navigation easier for people using screen magnification software
  • Text and content magnification tools
  • Notify the user when a link opens in a new window
  • Give the user the option to bypass navigation and access content directly with a link at the top of each page
  • Language as simple as possible

In addition, we perform regular checks with the latest versions of browsers and screen readers to ensure that the site remains accessible.

  • Screen readers used during functional testing: JAWS and NVDA (on PC), VoiceOver (on iOS), TalkBack (on Android).
  • Browsers tested: Google Chrome (on PC and Android), Safari (on iOS), Firefox, and Edge (on PC).
  • Examples of tools used for automatic and manual technical evaluation: W3C HTML validator, WAVE and AXE DevTools extensions, Colour Contrast Analyzer, Web Developer Toolbar, Chrome Accessibility Inspector, etc.
